anyone know what's happening with http://www.miniclubofhawaii.com? i believe andy kauffman bought the domain and hosting for it but there's nothing on the site yet. it would be a great way to announce events, host classifieds/group buys, etc, etc.

Here's an old thread
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...pic=8465&5
And an early logo design.

I have gone to the mini club of HI page before and there was just some basic info but it is not there anymore.
I think things are on "hold".

So far announcements on MCO have been working for us- at least until we can get some other site rolling.

yeah, MCO seems to work great but it would be nice to utilize the miniclubofhawaii page since someone is paying for the domain name and hosting. i wonder if latka or southseasadie knows who's taking care of this. i'm sure there are a handful of us who know html and wouldn't mind launching the site.

i went to miniusa.com today and sent emails to a dozen people who own MINIs but may not surf mco. hopefully, they'll join us and we'll have a bigger presence at MINi events, etc.

i still like the idea of making little cards to pass out when we see other MINIs around in town. southseasadie, are you working on this? i dont mind helping out...

oooh, yeah, little cards would be cool.

An easy way to make it is if we printed our own using perforated business card stock paper (found at most computer stores) and print using our own home printers. We would all need to follow a specific format so that everyones cards have a uniformed look. The advantages of printing our own is that we could have individualized info on it such as MCO user names, etc. The disadvantage would be it would cost us more, we'd have to use our own printers, and were limiting ourselves with available material and the capabilities of our home computer/software.

The other way would be to mass print and whoever wants cards can share in the cost. This would create a definite coordinated look and the print shops would be able to do more with paper/type setting/ink, etc. The advantages of sending to a printer is a definite uniformed and professional look, and the cost would be lower since we're printing in bulk. The only disadvantage is that they won't be personalized...but that's not a big deal for me.

Ooohhhh, this would be sooooo cool! Let me know if there is anyway I can help!

P.S. erik808 - I have watched the Aloha 500 tape, thanks for loaning it to me. I'll be downtown Tuesday to get some Wet Okole seat covers installed, I will try to remember to drop the tape by the dealership. I'll PM you or post something to let you know if I remembered to do it.

as for the cards, i was thinking of something uniform with the club name, mco address, and where to find more info on special events, group buys, etc. anyone who wants cards can have them and we can stick 'em in windows when we see other fellow mini's. i know that southseasadie was working on some really cool logos that would look great on the cards.

OK on the cards. I can help distributing them as needed.
Do we want to encourage future MINI owners to be in the MINI club here?

Actually, since I learned about MCO from an MA, I would imagine MoH would be willing to distribute the MCoH business cards for us to new Mini owners. That would simply leave us the task of contacting current owners.

That would be a logical choice. However, due to the current litigious nature of BMW AG regarding the MINI name, it may not be a good idea. Until this situation is settled, I wouldn't want our MINI of Hawaii MA's to get into any trouble, nor would I want the dealership to get into any trouble.
