Thanks for the pics.
Too nice to bury these in the gallery.

Nice Focal sub with blue MINI wing logo. Check those blue Borla twin exhaust pipes!

The car show is being held at the Neal Blaisdell Center in the exhibition arena all weekend. Cost is $10. I don't know who's cars those are (They weren't standing near the car when I was there), but I think Kohu`ulaMINI does.

Just these two MINIs? That's all?
The Dark silver MCS belongs to Ruel and Judy Mae Diaz of Waipahu
It's got a Fine Audio system- a full upgrade.

cool mini's! i wonder how much they spent on their mods? hey minihune, was any one of these worked on at island sound? you know, the one you mentioned with full-on custom audio and video/DVD for about $5000+?

anybody else going down tomorrow? i'll probably head down in the afternoon sometime after surfing and stuff, since i'll be in the area.

i heard there was a booty contest tonight? keikilee, did you see it? actually, do you have any pics? and i heard there's a bikini contest tomorrow night. maybe i'll check that out too, like two for the price of one to maximize my steep admission fee.

btw...those focal speakers are supposed to be the bomb, at least for separates - mids and highs. my friend has got a booth there called xtreme audio. he highly recommends them for any serious car audiophile. in fact, he has 2 or 3 cars there that should capture a trophy or 2, as 1st place trophy was won at the previous show - the extreme import car show. he's itching to get his hands my mcs once it comes in. but i think these cars a little too extreme for me.

Nope, that was another DS MCS. These don't look like they have NAV although one has indash DVD. Do you want full custom audio/DVD upgrades. I think one is more than $6000 for the audio/DVD you see here. The other full audio and DVD upgrade from Island Sound was way more. Installation was a full week or two to give you some idea. Custom dual Rockford Punch Subs/amps with hidden Xtant 1.1 mono amps in the wheelwells for the front door Boston Acoustic separates, NAV-TV tuner and DVD player that plays onto the NAV screen plus more. And that is just the audio/video upgrade- he's got the JCW kit.

Focals are great but pricey unless you can get them at wholesale. I'll stick to my budget audio upgrade for less than $3000. Works good for me and plays loud enough to hurt my ears- remember I added a sub!

I didn't catch the booty contest...as a matter of fact, i left before all of the car show groupies showed up. Yup, girls flashing ***** and butts....that's typical car show entertainment. that's why I try to go early or before the show starts during the set-up.

Actually, since my friend decided last minute not to enter his WRX, I called it a bust and left early.

Gosh, minihune...what don't you have in your car? Microwave? You seem to have it all, man....I'd like to take a closer look next time...or perhaps you should enter in the next show!

Microwave? Hm? Good idea. But first a refrigerator.

I don't really have that much yet compared to others that I know. I'm working on a few things nobody else has. No rush on those. Top secret.

Next stop will be for stage one brake upgrade all around. Still waiting on a few more parts before I have everything redone for that. Cross drilled rotors/ Miltex brake pads/ Stainless steel brake linings/ upgraded brake fluid/ and maybe if I have energy- two tone painted brake calipers.

Later, maybe pulley, ECU -when the right one is ready. Header- when it is clear which one will do what I want.
Suspension is done for now- maybe links but that is later.
Quaife Limited Slip differential?- Deciding on that- pretty pricey and don't know if it will be of as much use for what I do.
Seat Harness- might need two.

Enter in a show?- well then I don't get to drive it around for that time. Maybe. But I don't really care about that.
If I get my other long term mods done then anything is possible.

Aerobody kit and custom paint? When I see a good kit that knocks my socks off then maybe. Cameleon is nice.
Just having fun for now.

Whoa, sounds awesome, Minihune!!!!!

The refrigerator should be no problem...I'm sure you could convert the a/c ducts in the glovebox to blow much colder air, then modify the glovebox interior for an air tight seal. I think that would work...but unfortunately it would only be good for about 2 or 3 cans of soda....

just came back from the car show...and i'd say i got my money's worth. although i didn't see the bikini contest, all you gotta do is walk around and you'll see plenty enough, girls i mean. especially since they're already dressed to impress the cameras. kinda weird/funny how guys go walking around with their cams, either still or video, and ask the girls to pose in front of car or bike while they take a few pics. sometimes, they even ask a few girls to pose together, and of course, the girls willingly do their stuff, often in seductive poses. whew! everywhere you turn there's some girls strutting their stuff right in front of you, none too shy.

but, despite the distractions, i did get to see and inspect many cars, including the 2 mini's. i even got to talk to himini?, the owner of the electric blue mcs. he did his audio system himself. not too bad i must say. his pulley was done by sonic motorsports and limited slip differential/hi-perf clutch/lightweight flywheel done by some trans shop. had some troubles with the install of the pulley, but it came out in the end. the others was about $1000 install, $2000 parts. that's something i'm also thinking of much later after wheels, jcw or randy's perform package, suspension, brake overhaul and audio/possibly video. wow, that's alot of $$$$. maybe enough to get me into the $10k club.

somehow, it seems the older i get, the more i spend on big boys toys. and people say that i'm super pahke with my $$$! that's only cause when i do spend, i blow some wads.

btw, i saw my friend chad's demo cars - xtreme audio. i gotta say at least one if not two of his 3 cars are gonna win their category. those cars are something else. i highly recommend him to anybody who's serious about spending some $$$ for custom sounds, which is his specialty.

What happened to the american flag that was on his white roof?
I thought I saw one there not long ago.
Also he took off his front Plates.
See those bullet holes! Combat.

Girls,Girls, and more Girls? Is this a car show or a nightclub?
I guess both depending on what time you go.
I'm with Keikilee-go early, beat the crowds. Aren't we a lively bunch?

saturday usually is one of the better days for these things as the cars should be fully set up by then and the cars should be open for better inspection. friday usually has closed hoods and locked doors with the owners not there.

a friend of mine helping with me with my corolla took first in the performance class with his corolla using my tial BOV and custom bling bling stainless plates. my other friends took 2nd and 3rd in the same class and were not very happy.
now they can all head out to the dragstrip and have at it.

good to see the 2 minis there representing. the matching baby seat in the grey one was neat.
