the other day when i talked to darrell, he mentioned that they had to hire a security guard due to thieving of either the 'mini' or 's' badge off of the mini's. the next day while driving to work, i spotted a fairly new '02-'03 brown corolla 's'? the 's' looked suspiciously like the mini's with the red inside-border color. some girl was driving with a guy in the passenger who appeared to be going to uh manoa.

hmmm...is this a new style or trend? kinda like how the new escalade is the hottest car currently. any punk i catch trying to fool around with my future mcs will seriously regret laying his hands on my mini. i just have no soft spot at all for clowns who rip off other cars' emblems to stick on their own car or piece of transportation.

The Corolla S may look familiar, but rest assured it is a factory part from Toyota. I thought the same thing, but a guy that worked for me had a Corolla S.

 

The missing emblems were a few of the front bonnet MINI wing crests and a rear S.
Did you know that the front MINI wing is a different size for the MC vs the MCS.
Can you guess which is larger and why?...

IS- The MCS front bonnet has a scoop and that leaves less space so the wing emblem is smaller than on the MC which has a larger undisturbed bonnet front.

My MINI parks outside all the time so this debadging thing is a constant fear. (...that and the nasty scratching thing that starts with "k".) My only hope is that if the thugs are going to do it that they'll at least be gentle, use dental floss, and not ruin my paint. I know that's a completely contradictory expectation. Fortunately, people in my neighborhood like my MINI (and me, too) so maybe they'll help watch over it.
