16th Annual All British Car Day- Hawaii
In Honolulu.
Date: May 25th
Place: Kapiolani Park
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00pm
Calling all British car owners! The gathering of the faithful is set for May
25th. This is the 16th year of the All British Car Day and all British cars
are welcome. This is not a judged concourse, but rather a show and shine.
We¹ve had cars show up on the back of tow-trucks! So wash and wax your
British car and meet us at the lot adjacent to the Waikiki Shell¹s mauka
parking lot, across from the zoo. This is the same location as in the past.
Look for our banner.
Start time is 9am and finishing up at 3:00pm with a trophy ceremony and door prizes provided by Jaguar Hawaii, JN Automotive Group, and Mini of Hawaii.
Cars will be able to come and go all day, so if you have to leave early or
arrive late that¹s okay. We would like to get as many cars as possible to
meet at Ala Moana Center, upstairs by Neiman Marcus, at 8:30am sharp to
stage for a parade through Waikiki on the way to the park. If you can make
it for the Waikiki run please contact Steve Kushner at 681-3861 or email him
at Spitfire79@hawaii.rr.com.
Mini of Hawaii will be bringing out their grill and will be doing
hamburgers. For more information contact Brett Pruitt at: 551-1929. It
should be a day of fun for the whole family.
PS: A small donation of $5 per car is requested to help defray costs,
spectators are free!

Sure, May 25. I may stay for the morning. I've done it twice before. Some really nice British classic cars each year. We were looking for a bunch of MINIs old and new. Also a barbeque, always a treat.

Question from the mainland...so how goes the "how can MINI be a British car if it's made by BMW?" question going for you all. I would suspect the whole thing in regards to MINI has pretty well established itself by now. We have a similar show tomorrow...just curious how you are experiencing this.

The older Austin minis are classics and certainly qualify as a British car so it seemed a newly built MINI2 from Oxford would be appropriate.
We have been warmly received and have participated every year since.
MINIs are built by MINI which is owned by BMW. BMWs are not invited.
Usually the biggest groups will be MG (many model years), Triumph, and MINI.

It is possible to be there all day and not have one person make a snide BMW remark.

btw- I got a gallon of Hydro if anyone (local, in Hawaii, on Oahu) wants some....

I already washed and waxed mine but I still have one more week to get it dirty again.
I'm interested in the Hydro. How do we divide it up? Can we get some containers and a funnel. Would you split it and I can pay you? I know walmart has various cheap containers. Let me know.

No fatigues or machine guns! I'm more of a Land Rover fan than a militant.
That TOW launcher looks like it doubles as a tennis ball launcher.
Will there be a lot of classic Mini's there? When I lived in Sicily I tried to get one but a good one was hard to find. The Fiat 500 were a lot more popular.
