Talked to a couple of vendors re: euro parcel shelf and my conclusion is that the best price is found at our very own MINI of Hawaii!

If we order through a “Hawaii MINI Hui group buy,” we can get a 15% discount off the retail price. (Members in the BMWCCA can also get a 15% discount if they order the parts).

There are 6 people on the list so far. I would like to place the order by Wednesday, August 06. If you are interested in ordering the shelf at this discounted price, please respond to this thread or PM me.

Perhaps as much as possible, we should try to order the parts as a group to help the Parts Dept staff out and to help them save on shipping costs, also.

___________________
The parts w/ prices are:

51-16-1-186-417 shelf - $38.25
51-16-7-057-375 rubber shelf mat - $37.50 (some people have opted not to purchase this and make their own rubber gripping mat)
51-45-7-072-009 blind plate - $3.83
07-13-1-472-727 nut x 3 - $1.59 per 3 ($.53/each)
51-41-0-141-057 bolt x 2 - $.76 per 2 ($.38/each)
07-13-6-800-957 1 bolt - $.60

Retail price: $82.53
less 15% Hawaii MINI Hui Discount (-12.38)
plus 4.167% tax (+2.92)

OUR TOTAL: $73.07

___________________

For reference, Classic Auto Campus seems to be the other “cheap” place but their price is $74.24 including shipping to the continental U.S. only. We’re getting a better deal than this! WOW! When do we ever get things cheaper here than the mainland? Heh.

thanks!

Hey pyratio!

Ya dug this thread from the vault
My '03 VR MC has the Euro Parcel Shelf without the rubber mat and my wife's '05 SG MCCa has the rubber mat.

Simply put...my stuff slides around during "spirited" motoring and the wife's stuff stays put.
For some, the $38 is well worth it, but you can save $$ by using non-slip drawer/cabinet liner mats.

I believe blown-lone-star is working on the group buys. Last I heard, he was working hard checking with vendors. I'm sure more will follow soon!

It seems the best way to go is to stay on the islands with this product at this time.

Ok Yall, as promised here is the update for the euro parcel shelf under the steering wheel thingy........

BMW will give us a great group buy. the regular price is $38
If we have 5 or more buyers they can give it to us for $28.
If we have 10 or more, then we can get them for $26.

Its a pretty good savings. there will be an announcement about it at Mini to the Max on November 20.

let's make sure to keep this 'group-buy' for members-only unless we are desperate for orders.

i count six so far. if we can get a few more we can get it a few dollars cheaper. I say we wait a week for people to make decisions and to see the post. I will make the final decision next week. then talk to BMW and go from there.
