HI To RI
HI To RI
To all my fellow Mini Owners, RI has a good size Mini population. But everyone ask were did I get my strips and grill at. Thanks eastside and M7.
I had to drive two hours to go Autocross in a Firestone parking lot. It is alot harder than driving the one in HI. You have to know the course or you just end up driving around the parking lot. DNFing!
The Mini is fixed finially after that Big bad H2 hit it. And how do you get the HI inspection sticker off your bumper without using a razer blade and taking the paint off?

yo ryan!!!!
glad to hear you are doing good....the safety check sticker should just peel off. I lifted the corner with my finger nail and slowly (they key is to do it slowly) started pulling. it left slight residue around the edges, but that came off with goo gone and a little rubbing alcohol. it was the bumper, so i wasn't afraid of using rubbing alcohol (I assume rubbing alcohol can do bad things to the body of the car?)...and i washed my car like crazy right after I did it.
anyways.....i'll have you know, all of the fruit punch has been cleaned from the interior of my MINI!
as a matter of fact, it's pretty clean right now cause i'm either going to sell it, or trade it in a few weeks from now.
take care...and think about autox this way...at least you folks have a place to go! we here...may not have a place in about 6 months.
peace out!

Good to hear from you. Glad your MINI is whole again.
Where in RI are you located?
My daughter is in Providence and graduating next May. Will be visiting her then.
For autocross in a parking lot, try walking the course at least 3 or 4 times. Concentrate on learning each turn and do it alone at least a few times. The better you "know" the course the better you will cleanly drive it. No DNFs. If you watch the early heats you can see where drivers are having trouble and avoid them.
Looking ahead early also helps. Not just focusing on the elements right before you but 2 or 3 steps ahead. Your MINI will go where your eyes look, as you drive faster you have less time on anything that is close so plan ahead accordingly.
If there are fun runs at the end of the day, try to drive them for smoothness and try to go out with other more experienced drivers either in their cars or in yours. You'll get the sensation of driving the same course faster or smoother; then do it yourself the "same way".

It would be great to see you.
The season is almost over, up here. I am saving my money for new Tires and Wheels.

Aloha Ryan,
Glad your Hawaiian souvenier on your MINI's boot and bumper is finally fixed :impatient
One of your old co-workers (Charles) just ordred a MINI and he made sure it was not a Liquid Yellow/Black top like yours
.
BTW, your favorite Service Advisor says ALOHA!
We miss you at our monthly autocross
. Last event we had more MINIs earn the podium "cones"
Keep in touch!

I'm going too. I'll have to sign up though. The last one was a lot of fun. I never knew that there were sooo many actual haunted places in RI. It was one of the best runs I've been on!
off topic: rydlisec, Do you want to go to an autox in early Oct? You can use the Falkens. Looks like 4 of us are going from work (Bruce, Wayne and Duke with a Neon SRT-4). See if we can touch base at work tomorrow.
