[Texas] Hurricane Katrina Relief Rally

This is still in the planning stages, but I wanted to get it on everyone's radar. We are going to open this up to all car clubs and all cities!!! So, if you are a member of another club or know someone who is, pass the info along. Get the word out! The Red Cross needs all the help they can get! Come spend Saturday in Houston and help out the evacuees.

Go here for more info!

We are trying to get as many Gulf South Motoring club members to go to this as possible. Feel free to post at www.gulfsouthmotoring.com asking the people to try and make it. A little encouragement goes a long way.

It's happening this Saturday!

OK, guys...listen up! THE EVENT WILL GO ON AS PLANNED OCTOBER 1ST! We ran it last night and there's no debris or anything on the roads (aside from random stupid dogs hanging out in the middle of some). Most gas stations are back in service so people shouldn't have a problem there. I figure it's more important to get money to the Red Cross asap than to wait any longer. Also, there's just too many flyers out there...people who aren't in the know may show up accidently if we postponed it.

See you guys there! Psstt......bring your check book!

Thanks to everyone who showed up to help the Red Cross yesterday! So far, we've raised $2,500!

Don't forget, it's not over yet (just when you thought you got rid of me)! There were a bunch of items that we didn't receive in time and a bunch of stuff in general...let's just say we saved the best for last! There will be an online silent auction in the next week. I just need some time to set things in place and work out the logistics. Stay tuned to Project Mary for details! Also, I "should" have picts up on the site by tomorrow.

Thanks to the Gulf South guys for motoring all the way out to Houston from Hammond, LA! You guys are awesome!

Online Auction up now!

Thanks for being patient (ok, some of you NOT so patient ) over the past two weeks waiting for me to get this up and running.

It's finally up here!

Here's the deal: This is a silent auction. The starting bids are listed next to the items. If you want to bid, click "bid now." That will open up an email window to my account (sorry, I'm just not knowledgeable enough in computers to do it any other way). Put the item's name in the subject line and write your bid in the message. Every morning, I will post the highest bid to beat from the following day. Bidding ends Saturday night at midnight. Winners will be notified by email by Monday.

Don't forget this all goes to the Red Cross to help with their relief efforts, so spend freely!!!

Happy bidding!
