Thinking of buying a GP
Thinking of buying a GP
Does anyone know...can the suspension be adjusted so it rides higher? I do not like the look of where the wheels look as if they will scrape the wheel wells.
I like to get up and go, but I do not speed around corners, so I do not need it to sit low.

How quickly do you need to "get up and go" to justify raising up a lower-than-jcw GP2 and plunking down $40k for it? A S-model isn't enough power for you?
If you're not going to speed through a corner, not that it's necessary information to justify a specific model, you really don't need a GP2.
Unless you're looking to put it on a mantle somewhere.

I already own a JCW hardtop. I like the look and seats and rumble of the GP. Hey...don't worry about how I spend my 40k.
I just do not like the look of the wheels almost touching the wheel-wells. To each their own I suppose.

lol. No worries, If you want to spend 40k, don't let me stop you! I'd think you'd get more body roll by raising it though. To each their own.

Different GP's seem to come from the dealers set at different heights. I have had 2 GP2's, both from the sale dealership new, and they came set at quite different heights.
I suspect that the car you are looking at may have been fully lowered. A GP2 set mid range does not have the wheels any where near touching the wheel wells!
You need to have a look under the car at the coilovers. The coilovers have a threaded part. On the front there are 2 black rings one on top of each other, on the rear there is 1 black ring. If you can see thread visible above these rings, then there is room to raise the suspension. The amount of thread showing above the ring is the limits to how much further it can be raised.

By default, the GP2 should be set at the midpoint at delivery. So to answer your question, yes it can be raised.
Just want to add that I've never had an issue at the default ride height. There is still plenty of wheel travel.
