For all those who are currently enjoying their GP's, what kind of mileage are you getting, normal driving -vs- spirited driving

I thought normal driving was spirited Are you calliung me not normal?

I'd actually be interested to hear this as it should be A more efficent and B lighter.

300 miles of spirited driving in the countryside yesterday with a bunch of other MINI enthusiasts ... 21.9 MPG ... 42 PSI tire pressure (for the high speeds) ... driver and passenger ... ranging from 90-94 degrees external temperature ... plenty of hills, curves, and WOT (wide open throttle) ... very enjoyable!

Very much doubt that GPs will get better mileage than MCSs, on average / median.

26-29 mpg over the course of 3900+ miles. I drive my wifes S and I get about the same on either. I drive them both hard but once you get on the freeway there is only so much you can do and there I often just cruise in 6th.

I disagree, in "normal" (i.e. not WOT) driving, I think the increased power will be offset by the decreased weight. I would expect a GP to pull in about the same mileage numbers as an MCS or regular JCW. Heck, even comparing WOT vs WOT it probably isn't that much of a difference than a regular JCW either (for exactly the same offset reason).

Driving style is a bigger factor than any of this, so there's no way to get normalized figures from each model (unless you'd want to go to something as flawed as the gov't's figures). But I don't see any reason to believe that an 80 or 90lb reduction in weight offsets a 50hp increase.. Whatever, time will tell. We've gotten two replies in this thread so far. Keep them coming.

FWIW after 3500 miles mixed about 29-30MPG, but then again I don't think anyone bought a JP for gas mileage??, it does have a much higher fun factor though

It will improve if you turn off the A/C
