I spent about $55 for a full on Winston the other day...but I've already seen gas prices jump up about $.20 more...so its only going to get worse by Summer. I fully expect $6/gallon by next year

We would already be getting supply from ANWR if the "greatest president ever to have lived" Caesar Clintonius would have signed the legislation that would have opened the area to exploration. We also have petroleum and NG off the US coasts that we cannot drill for right now do to our eco-freak friends. We have new technologies today that can go for these supplies without harming any polar bears, manatees or fruit-eating rabbit bats.

The highest I can get here in Kodiak, Alaska is 91 octane. I just fueled up and it was $4.55/gal.

Weekly Retail Premium Gasoline Prices comparison to other countries. We are at what Germany was in 1996 (for example), now they are at $8.75.
Or this could be why we are paying so much...
Notice the negative export numbers at the bottom. Despite record prices, less oil is getting to market.
