Although she hasn't arrived yet (still sitting dockside across the pond waiting for a ride home)....she will be named "Fizbo" . I named her after Cams 'clown name' on the tv show Modern Family. The day I ordered her and told my friends, they all of course said it was a clown car, blah, blah blah. That Night the Modern Family episode aired where Cam attends a clown buddy's funeral, and there is a scene where a bunch of clowns are getting into a Mini. Timing couldn't have been better.
Oh, absolutely!
Her name is Elizabeth Regina Cooper. AKA: Betty.
I was originally going to name her Reggie. The logic behind that was slightly convoluted, I admit: Reggie is short for Regina. Regina means "queen". England has a queen. Steve McQueen had a Mini...
Anyhow, the Universe very helpfully stepped in and let me know she prefers Betty.
On Friday, after my first meeting/test drive, I was leaving the dealership in my old car, still debating on whether or not I would buy her. I had Pandora radio playing and what comes on but Ram Jam's Black Betty.
On Wednesday, after buying her, I'm leaving the dealership listening to an entirely different radio station on Pandora and the same song came on again.
Clearly a sign!
My '06 Astro Black MCS is named Dougal, AKA Bullet. While driving him home for the first time last week, the first thing that popped in my mind when I hit the highway was that he was "as quick as a bullet". I did want a more formal, British-sounding name though and since Dougal means "dark stranger" and I haven't quite gotten to know him yet, I think it suits him just fine.
It might be kinda obvious, but her name is Indi And I love how MINI badges the cars with the color under the hood. So it's kinda like her name is branded on her
i named mine Charlie, my gf likes to think it's short for Charlize, like the actress Charlize Theron who was in the Italian Job remake. My gf thinks she looks like her. (there is some resemblance)
My 2012 MCS is named "Violet - The Dowager Countess." Anyone who watches Downton Abbey would understand. She is an entitled, feisty old lady, but everyone loves her.
My wife named her not-even-delivered-yet mini Peter Piper. She told me it is because the car is pepper white with a chili red roof. So now she goes around saying Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled chili peppers... I've checked her forehead, no fever. I will probably henceforth refer to it as Mr. PP.
