Yea, I think they're cute...AND everyone that sees my car tells me how CUTE it is! It's still a little macho, but I certainly wouldn't call it "funky". That makes is sound like something is wrong with it.

I never escaped from the "cute car" comments. It hurts a lot less after a couple years, but its still a bummer.

The english language lacks words to describe something like the MINI... from this kind of necessity, words are born.

well its something you have to come to terms with....me i drive a bright liquid yellow cooper s....with the black its been called a bumble bee...but the girls and kids get a kick out of it so i dont mind....all i need is a meep meep horn and im set lol
The Mini Cooper is cute.
The Mini Cooper S is quirky.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
For what it's worth, I have yet to see a woman walk around my car when it's parked (I have an S), look inside it, and check it from all angles. I've seen many men do this though (although most of them are 40ish, like me). My car is DS/W; personally I think the brighter colors accentuate the "cuteness" factor moreso than the darker ones. That being said, my wife thinks the mini is "cute", but I just ignore it when she says it.

Sorry guys but "cute" is something we just have to live with, like it or not. CB might be right though...killer cute, cute n' deadly, razor-cute, cute-a**, smokin' cute...any of these might work. We need alternatives...denial will get us nowhere.

The classic Mini is cute. It is amusingly tiny, agile, and cheerful looking. Most people will smile when seeing a classic Mini for the first time, expecting a dozen clowns to come jumping out. The new Mini cannot escape the same label, as it was specifically designed to maintain the same image. Why fight it? I do think the new Mini look like more than a toy, mostly because of the tire size, but I think it is a travesty to do the "black out" thing... as if Darth Vader would drive a Mini!
