Just installed a JCW grille. Much easier than I expected -- only took about five minutes. Plus you can see the new dent in my bonnet. Got to love parking in the city.

That grill looks great. I did the aero kit grill on my 03 and it took a couple hours of trimming to fit. I like the all black grill but the chrome surround would be my choice if I did it again.

I moved here from Chicago (the part they are now calling West Town, but it used to be "Near North Loop"). Sorry to hear about the dent. Lame.

The JCW grill looks great,
hey stanislaus,
did you drop the lower bumper assembly to install the lower aero,
or just trim in place?
that bumper drop is whats keeping me from doing it...

I did not remove the bumper. The ends of the lower grill on my mini are not as flush as the upper one as a result (but I can live with the slight difference). When you trim the grill to fit, it makes the tab ends longer than they ought to be, so they don't fit as snugly. There is an excellent tutorial on here that shows you how to snug them up, but you have to do it from behind the removed bumper. My bumper is a little worn so I didn't mind dremmeling out new slots in it. It's a pain to remove old 3M adhesive strips from the old bumper, so beware. Hey Artmem
Where'd you get the lower black mesh grill? Part of the kit? I'm looking for one of those or will paint the one I have now.

I wonder if your stock grill will fit a 2003? I guess it probably should.

I'm not sure - I think the bottom grill opening is a little more rounded in the 03.

Yeah, but I'm betting those screens are just rectangular pieces that overlap the openings. I'll have to take a look someday. I have a long to do list with my Inspection II coming up.

Well, I've officially 'youified' my mini .. he's now almost as dorky as I am.

I also had my buddy extend my stripes down the bumpers..

I'll have to take better pics later on after a good washing. It's gonna rain and possibly snow tuesday though, so I'm just not feeling energetic enough to do it this weekend.

Nice photo - and good to see another Just-a-Cooper here. I was expecting to see an apple on the roof or something. (And yes I know it didn't really hit Sir Isaac on the head.)
