Purple Haze begs for chrome! It is such a rich color and chrome really sets it off. I'm not a huge fan of chrome wheels myself but I don't think they would be too much at all. The exterior chrome package looks great and they don't over-do it like they did in 2002-2004.

Notice the added chrome side vents on my wife's Cooper. We have done a few mods to enhance the chrome look: chrome side vents, clear side markers (instead of yellow), and turn signal bulbs that do not make the signals look yellow when they are not on. . . I think it gives it a very clean and fresh look!

Purple Haze is being discontinued!

From motoringfile today:

"As the MINI Plant in Oxford gets ready to switch over to production of the new MINI later next year, expect availability of some options to change. Specifically we’ve learned that Black Eye Purple (Purple Haze in the US), Liquid Yellow and Solar Red will be discontinued from April production onward. We should see a few other changes later in the year as well."

That's terrible news! I guess not enough people appreciate the splendor of purple.

At least now I can tell my husband that I have to order my MINI before April!

I guess it is ok since we already have our PH/S Cooper, but it is sad to see good colors go away. . ..

All I want for Christmas is my M.I.N.I....

She's on her way! Jeff71 and I are anxiously awaiting Saphira to leave Port Hueneme at some point this week and head down to the dealership. She's Purple Haze/White Roof with Black Leather/Anthracite Interior. She has cold weather, convenience, premium and sport packages...so we've got a full toggle board! We ordered her in October and have been on pins and needles ever since. We'll post pictures when she arrives!

-=-=-=-Saphira: She's fast, fiery, beautiful and intelligent!-=-=-=--

They say it's due to sales, which is possibly true, but it's also a way of keeping unique Minis on the road.

I can't imagine why! I tried it myself. Let us know how this turns out. My next thought for you would be PH/PH- maybe adding black bonnet stripes (maybe custom ones that let a little PH shrow through as a side pin stripe?) or black checkerboard (with PH showing through) to the roof??? Curious to see what happens..........(maybe it is an error in the software?) You could still do a lot of black accents with the PH/PH and strip down the chrome if you like.

BTW: I don't know if anyone is interested in MINI collectibles, but if you are, you know PH is hard to find. I started a thread in the collectibles forum and would love to be PMd if anyone finds any interesting PH models/toys/etc...

I've talked to two dealers now and they both say that PH/B is impossible. I'm so bummed.

I thought I had posted about that awhile back. When they first updated the configurator I noticed you couldn't get the black roof anymore. Blew my mind. IMHO the PH/B is the best. Of course I am biased.

Have you considered PH/Silver? It is a stunning combo and is certain to be one of the most rare combos ever made. . . .

Look through PurplePeopleEater's gallery and there are a lot of photos from different angles (you just have to get through a few pages of cat pictures to find them)

I adore PH/S and if I wasnt getting a sunroof then it would be my clear choice. Once upon a time I had a CR/W Cooper with a sunroof. I then went to a CR/B Cooper with a sunroof and loved that the roof was all one color inspite of having that huuuuuge sunroof in the middle of it. Thats why I'm so set on a black roof. I think I'll just go for PH/PH.

I'm not going to let roof color stop me from finally getting the MCS I want.

Top color

I'm in the process of specs for a 2006 BEP MCSc. The questions is what color roof, blue or black? I haven't seen either in person, so I will rely on my fellow NAM members to help me out. Thanks.

There are only 3 choices from factory BEP white or silver (for some reason Black is not available that would of been the 4th) as for blue

Go with the black

Since it is a convertible, get black roof. . . Blue might really clash with the BEP, although I have not seen that combo in person. You might want to visit a showroom and take a look at the color samples of the blue ragtop material placed next to BEP paint samples.. .

Dear fellow PHers,
I would appreciate your feed back on some graphics packages I’m considering for my MC. The post is https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...923#post759923

Thanks,
