Glad to be back in a Mini

Hi!

new here. In August I ordered my new Mini, 2022 JCW convertible. My last one was totaled January 2018 after only having it a few months and bought a 2018 Mustang instead. But I’m happy to be back.

I’ve been tracking my Mini in the Mini garage through the process and about two weeks ago it was scheduled for production, then about a week ago It moved to Production Begins - in queue.

I emailed my SA and asked what the time difference between entering the queue and actually starting production. They said on their end it’s already started production and usually takes about a week, but the online tracker hasn’t progressed beyond “Production Begins Today's the day: your MINI has entered the production queue.”

my question is what’s the likelihood it’s actually started vs still waiting? SA hasn’t been the most communicative through this process and it’s been frustrating. Lots of “I’ll let you knows” without actually letting me know anything until i follow up about it 🙄

If your MA isn't of much help, give 866-ASK-MINI a call. They'll tell you what's going on with your car and encourage you to call as much as you want. You just need the production number.

When it went to Production Begins I got a Vin number.

I’ll call tomorrow and see what’s up!

Thanks!

I emailed Mini and they got back to me a few days ago, my car started production on the 2nd and is estimated to be completed on the 23rd. We'll see. I expect things to start moving on Monday, hopefully the online tracker keeps up.

I was told production only takes around a week, surprised to see it actually taking three weeks...

My car finally wrapped up production last Thursday and is now "Awaiting Carrier Assignment." I'm told I can't get an accurate delivery date until the car arrives at the Oxford port which should be sometime this week according to my motoring advisor.

That's all for now tho.
