MINI still in "Order" status after a couple weeks

Hi all,

I ordered my Mini a couple weeks ago and its still in "Order" status online. When I call 1-866-ASK-MINI it says my car has been scheduled for production with no confirmed production date. Is this normal? From reading reports on this forum, it seems like people get production dates pretty quick.. I just want to know if this is happening to anyone else. Thanks for the help. :impatient

Yes, it definitely happens. 6 months ago that was very normal. It all comes down to your dealer having a slot set aside. Have you tried speaking with a real person at ASK-MINI? They sometimes have a bit more info. Like they may know you've been assigned a "production pack" (which I picture as your car in pieces in a box!), and that can happen a few days before the production date is set.

Good luck and hang in there!

Same thing here. I got my production number about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Still says scheduled for production with no confirmed production date. This is after waiting 3.5 weeks to get the production number from when I ordered the car (due to the dealer's allocation).

some dealerships seem to either have bigger allocations or less orders than others. In my case it was about 10 days before I received my production number by email, and just over 6 weeks before the car went into production. I'm two months into the process now and expecting to be driving my MINI in about 4 weeks.

I don't know what to tell you, the wait is long and torturous! Don't hesitate to call your local dealership or 866 ASK MINI for up to the minute information as often as you like. They're used to it.

In the meantime, you'll find countless helpful people as I have here on NAM. Welcome!

Thanks all for the replies!

It only took 1 day to get my production number, so I guess I was fortunate with that. And ill def. bug my dealership/ask-mini for more info. thanks!

Good News!

Here's an update. Checked the owner's lounge this morning, and it said my vehicle was scheduled for production!

I called 1-866-ASK-MINI and their automated system told me my vehicle was actually IN production, and the est. completion date was Aug. 18th... 3 days from now!

So it basically jumped from being ordered to being in production with a 3 day completion time..

Time to get my car loan stuff set up.
