Digital Dash question from a newbie owner

Recently I purchased a 2021 Mini Countryman JCW and I am really enjoying it. It really rips, it sounds great and is practical and comfortable enough to be my daily driver. That being said I have a question about the digital dash that's in the 2021 models and what I can and can't display and despite looking over my owner's guide I can't see to find an answer so I thought I would ask here.

In the center section of the digital display (where the speed is shown) down at the bottom there is a miles per gallon counter that, I believe, is showing me the overall mpg of the vehicle since new (which has only been about 650 miles). If I press the trip odometer button this counter changes to show me the miles travelled since I reset the trip odometer but then after a couple of seconds it switches back to the mpg counter. Is there a way to change this so that it shows me the trip odometer by default and not the mpg counter? Frankly I don't find mpg counters to be all that useful and am used to calculating that myself at each fill up. The trip odometer, on the other hand, is always useful since I like to keep an eye on the miles I have driven on that particular tank of gas or on that particular road trip as needed.

If anyone knows the answer to this question I would appreciate it!
