Coincidentally, I just watched this the other day.

At times, they go into such detail that my mind started to wander. It can be a little dry, but anyone interested in the fine details of the history and how the Mini changed from year to year ought to enjoy it.

It's no Ken Burns but it's worth a watch.

Deffo worth the watch, thanks for posting it. The presenter gets a little over-amplified at times but it's quite fun, I actually LOL'd at 9:59 with the lightning strike emphasis when he was talking about the Dakar rally wins, good stuff!

As a sidenote, this might fit here as it is historic --- I've always loved minilite-style wheels and have often wondered about their origin. Can anyone here offer up any details or a resource to search further?

The actual Minilte brand wheels are said to have been first developed circa 1962, designed by John Ford and Derek Power according to this article,
which is a great read:
https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hm...e/1331968.html

But the 8 spoke design precedes that time and was actively in use by the Cooper Car Company on their GP cars circa mid 50's,
sometimes even painted in white:

Stirling Moss won the '58 Argentinian GP dressed in that livery.

I'm a bit of an obsessive anorak, so I'm starting to dig into MINI roots, even though I still don't even own a R53 MCS, it will be soon enough when I find my ride,
and I greatly enjoy the historical aspects associated with the marque.

I'll prolly end up getting myself a copy of Doug Nye's book as it seems the most comprehensive:
