Hey everybody, I have to complete an informative speech for my class and have chosen to talk about the Mini's history. The speech has to be under 10 minutes so I can't talk about everything but here are some things I have in mind:
Their impact on car industry with fwd transverse mounted engine
Impact on rallye's
When they were imported in the US
and maybe talk very quickly about how the mini got revived by BMW in present times

Do you guys know of any good articles on the internet that focus on these topics? Real book sources would be help me a lot more if any of you have heard/read them. Thank you guys in advance. :smile:

Visit http://www.minimania.com. The best parts sourse and website for Classic Mini's in the US. You should find articles of the Mini's designer and history from it's introduction in 1959 to the end of an era in the year 2000.

From there you should find links to other sites that'll offer more information.

In the year 2000 or 2001 it came in 2nd place in the "Car of the Century" award, next to Ford's Model T which came in 1st place and the VW Beetle in 5th.

The MINI USA site had a great history of the car. Use the facts of that and flow with what you know. It should be a good ten minuets.
