In my presentation post, we speak a bit abaut Dragon Road and Spanish roads, and I said i would record a vídeo, ans there is it.
I recorded a part of my habitual tour, aprox 43,5 miles (but 25 is open road, and the rest are curves).
I normally drive in the night, because bikes and people walking are usual at the day (in vídeo can see some of this). But i prefer drive at four pm, for record the landscape.
I the past yes, i lived since 21 in a small town in this mountains. Now, i lives in a coast, but is only 12,5 milles, and i go to drive in weekend for fun. Something a short route like vídeos, something a bit large.
But in winter is a bit dangerous for ice in road (only in the night), and in summer for drunk people that go to village partys.
Awesome views for us here in the USA. We have great roads here for Mini Coopers, with tight twisty turns for many, many miles.
You Mini sounds awesome too!
Thanks for the tour, with your Mini!

I will like to visit this. The typical road that go to mind (product of films) when I think in USA is like this:
And how are to drive is the roads like "the Dragon", they have a stricted speed limit? The other drivers have respect?
In our roads the most dangerous thing ar the lack of respect, inclouding people that pass the middle lines of the road for take curves (until they drive at 30mph) or doing advances in places with no visibility, encounter a cyclists groups, and people walking in the road. The animals is not a problem, they ara a low number. Maybe a dog...
They good thing for drive is that here live a low number of persons. It is a relatively despoblated area, in contrast to Valencia or Catalonia.
That area in the photo looks like southern nevada or california. Lots and lots of roads like that out that way. I used to live in vegas for a bit so would go exploring on roads like that. There were some even wilder ones out in wyoming and utah.

Yes, that looks like death valley or past Las Vegas, I have driven out there many time. Very hot.

The Tail of the Dragon is very fun to drive, as well as several other roads in that region.
The speed limit is low on the Dragon. Mostly 30mph, but honestly it's difficult to go much faster because the curves are so tight.
I found it's best to go on a weekday because there are fewer police than on the weekends.
There is a variety of skill levels and behavior on the Dragon. One has to remain alert. Occasionally, people cross the center-line, which is quite dangerous. The police take it very seriously and will write tickets if they see someone cross the center.
