Code Reader Won't Indicate Code!

Hi Gents and Ladies,

Code reader reads: P316A on my wife's 2007 Cooper S convertible. Anyone know what this code actually means?!

Thanks in advance all!

I'm right there with you on that AZsrt! That really has me stumped?!

I searched all over the web yesterday and couldn't find much of anything! I guess you have an inside line on that, which I don't have. But either way, thanks for your input!

I contacted my local Mini dealer yesterday and asked if they knew. The guy said if it was a 2009, or newer, he'd say it was a battery code. And - truth is - the battery "has" shown signs of weakness a few times while starting the car in the AM. But with what you found, I am now REALLY confused!

In any case thanks for responding.

Anyone else have any ideas?

A marginal battery on these cars can cause all kinds of weird problems. If it's more than 3 years old, I'd go ahead and replace it.
