My MINIs through the ages
My MINIs through the ages
Hi, all. I just realized I've been a member for ten years now. I bought my first MINI when I was 15. Ever since I saw my first MINI, I was captivated. So, at 14, I illegally got a job at a Mexican food restaurant and worked 40 hours per week. I saved up enough to put down half on a then four-year-old car, my first MINI.
Also, In the market for an 05 - 06 MCS (if I can find one, JCW), under 85,000 miles CR/W. Cheers. Any Phi Gam's looking to hook a "brother" up?

Me and the crew.

Then being the idiot that all 16-year-olds are, I wanted a cool guy car, not a MINI, even though looking back; MINIs are cool guy cars haha. I traded in the MC for a run of the mill z3, which I thought was "cool."

Me, nine years ago, making the center console in my z3 black and not fake wood.

Yes, I was classy.

Black center console.

James was just as refined as me.

Then I got E46 M3 wheels that didn't really fit the rear.

Then I want to prom. Embarrassing picture btw lol.

Then I bought an actual cool car, as opposed to the z3.

Then I joined the Marines.

Bought a different MINI.

I never liked the r56 like I loved my r50. But, that's ok because got a classic! It's a 1996, flawless with 26,000 miles. My father and I drove it a thousand miles without a hiccup, other than stopping for gas every two hours.

There he is next to my Tacoma, which I f#$king love.

Then my uncle said he'd give me his Jag in 20 years because he'd be too old to appreciate it.

The last picture I have of him. I got him new wheels! The others were too wide, and I didn't like them. BTW, they're up for sale. Honestly, the tires and wheels look like I bought them yesterday.

While scrolling through your pictures I noticed the buildings in the background in the photo titled "then I joined the Marines." They look like the buildings in the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego. Is that where the photo was taken? If so I also went through boot camp at MCRD but it was probably many years before you were born; 1966 to be exact.
I also noticed your prosthetic leg in another picture, was that the result of a military injury? If so I'm sorry.
