First oil change

That I have done on my R 52 since buying. Decided I would try the vacuum method vs drain and fill. Warmed up the car with a drive. Cracked the oil filter housing to let oil drain, removed oil filler cap, then started removing the oil via the dipstick tube. After about ten minutes the tube started sucking air so I pumped some more moving the hose around and let it suck up what it could. I then removed the drain plug. Only a trace of oil came out. 1/4 of a thimble. I'm not sure it's worth going the drain and fill routine.

What I did find a pain was getting the oil filter housing out. Just got finished ordering a low profile 36mm socket from ECS.

I used the vacuum method a couple of times and although it seemed to do a good job removing the oil, I decided it was easier to just drain it thru the plug. The dipstick tube is smaller than normal so it forces you to use the smallest pickup tube.

I also prefer the drain method. Plus it saves me money from buying the vacuum tool and use that money on mods.

Thanks for the order. Top vacuum if you can get under the car or have a lift, have to make sure you are in the oil and all the way down . Bottom drain if you have a lift or a garage with a jack.
