I rarely used the MINI connected app except for the Web Radio function. MINI just upgraded the MINI Connected app to 3.0 and it removed the Web Radio (aka downgraded). I tried TuneIn Radio (not pro) but it says after free trial it will cost USD$7.99 a month for web radio! I tried the new MINI Streetwise, and I have not quite figured it out yet but does not seem worth the cost for MINI Connect.

i've been using the tunein in my mini for over a year with no monthly fee....

 

I hate Connect now...it's worthless to me. They deleted lots of stuff. I liked the "driving experience" I think it was called where it tracked acceleration braking and cornering. Also the voices are gone which wasn't that big of deal but was pretty cool to show people.

 

Voices Missing Sucks! I love the look on peoples faces when the car started talking. It was amazing and something no one else had.

 

does anyone have the older 2.8 version? i hate this new 3.0 ap its useless. i feel mini owes us the stuff they sold us, it was on the window sticker "MISSION CONTROL", etc. so now we have nothing... :(

 

Lost mine also with the forced update. When I opened the app it auto updated. Miss the talking from Mission Control :(

 

i loved mission control and really miss Facebook too. worst part is i can no longer see my text messages let alone get it to read them.

 

If y'all haven't gave new new app a one-star negative review yet, and/or wrote to the contact us link in the app, please do. Hopefully with enough people bitching about it they'll put back the missing features.

Yea I gave a bad review ....also I've been on Twitter bitching to them.

 

Yea a total crock...not sure why you'd take stuff away makes no sense. Mission control was awesome to show off to new people and my daughter loved it.

 

The Update deletes a number of functions, it is strongly recommended to have a backup of the last connected version 2.8 ipa

However if installed, what it did with me automatically via Itunes, "Driving Excitement Analyser" and other handy functions are gone. Among them tags you can collect on driving skills and green mode sailing etc..

 

Stopped at the dealer today and they mentioned that Mini Connect will become standard equipment going forward beginning with two models. Expect a another firmware update later this year for the new model year.

Also, rear view mirror with universal garage door opener is no longer an option as well as the planned elimination of the hidden dash compartment.

 

The UGO I am sure people will try to mod the older version in it.
