Custom Mirror Caps?
Custom Mirror Caps?
I'm looking to have mirror caps custom painted or vinyl wrapped, but have no idea where I'd get something like this done. Everywhere I've inquired has said they won't take such a small job on! Anyone have ideas as to where I can get this done? I'm located in Central Jersey.
(I also posted this in the detailing thread, but i'm not sure which is the right place!)
Thanks.

Back in the gen1 days....so 2002-2006 and 2008 on some...
Folks would buy spare mirror caps...they were sometimes sold decorated....
Paint and vinyl were both popular, with many members selling them, often with flags, etc...
Was a fairly popular item to personalize. Good luck. They did look very good when done right.

Local body/paint shops said they wouldn't take on such a small project? I'd keep trying different shops around you. You could always try and do the job yourself as well. I'm sure there are helpful YouTube videos out there that can help you step by step.

Jaque, a tye-dye type effect, though thats not the ONLY design I'd consider if its not do-able. There just isn't much out there in the way of colorful or feminine thats not pink these days!
Maybe try this. http://streetwerkz.com/hydrographics
It's called hydro dipping.
I had this shop powder coat some wheels. They do great work. They have done things for some of the car shows on TV.
Won't cost much to ship them a pair of caps.

Another option would be to talk to local artists. Get some spare caps (dealer for $$, mail-order for less, used for even less) and take them around to painters. I know people who have their racing helmets painted, for instance. Not cheap, but those are relatively specialized.
