What a cool process.....not for wheels in my opinion. Looks kinda strange. I have never seen a real live cars wheels w/ that finish (except in the vid).

I don't think you can remove hydrographics. I am actually going to be getting into this within the next couple of months. Pieces are properly prepped (sandblasted, primered, whatever needs to be done), then once dipped, they get some clear-coat as well. Good luck removing that.

If shops are reasonable and not jacking up their prices just because it's a new trend, hyrdographics will be ABOUT the same price as vinyl wrapping. The process is pretty neat.

It's a cool process and I can see doing small stuff like mirror caps and such. I'm not sure about whole bumpers, fenders or a whole car. Maybe if it has more graphical stuff or solid colors. I shy away from the fake carbon fibre.

I saw that used on an episode of Wheeler Dealers. As I recall, they did most of the plastic interior parts on a Range Rover. The end result looked pretty good, and they said it was cheaper than replacing the parts.

Thanks, Ministrater. This was fantastic. Unfortunately, it gave me way too many ideas.

Glad I could help. It will be interesting to see how far this kind of thing can go.

The design doesn't match on the spokes. It is straight on some and twisted on the others. I noticed that right away.

They also used it on American Chopper. There's a company called Tarjac in upstate NY that does the process for them.
