Countryman Remote Start

Looking for some help! Just got a 2013 CM S ALL4 and looking for a remote car starter. The Tech at Best Buy said I needed a module from BMW for 1K and then I could do it otherwise he couldn't do anything for me. I can't see that being true. I wanted a Viper remote start with the smart Phone app. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what type of remote Stater will work.
