I finally had two seconds to snap a few picture. Allowing the total price I paid to dissolve somewhere in my memory , I've got to say I really love these things....as DRL's, fog/driving lights (will they even work as fog lights?). Only "eh" on the upper third coming on with regular headlights (someone has got to figure out how to program around that and have the halo's on!).

Here are few pics....

The point of DRLs is that they are lights designed to 'glare' oncoming road users, which is why they are more noticeable than dip beam headlights (which are designed not to glare) - they can be thought of as low power full beam headlights.

So having them on at night would be a real nuisance to other road users.

Saw the pics, and just had to order these. :-p

Unfortunately, I don't have a spot to work on my car. Can anyone recommend a shop in the Bay Area (CA)? I would like to avoid the dealership if possible.

It would be way too bright to have full halos on with headlights! Fogs work better than stock!!

Got Them In

I got mine put in today at MINI of St. Louis. I was their first install. No one had even heard of them in the service department.

I'm very happy with them.

They charged 1.5 hrs labor per the installation document and a $13 shop fee. Came to $165 with my MINI Club discount.

They seem about 100 times brighter than the little 5W bulb they replaced. And they look 1000 times better, plus I don't have to waste headlight bulbs

I did this install yesterday. $438.00 from the dealer. Super bright! I had to really work the camera settings so the DRLs didn't look like big bright white spots. Also, if you look at these too long, all you see is white spots....

Install took five hours, as I take my time with all work. No, you do not have to remove the from bumper to accomplish this retrofit. You will have to remove both front wheels and jack stands are a must to do this safely.

Love them!!!!

Did you get them directly from a US MINI dealer? I wasn't aware they ever got an official US release.

I called my local dealership this morning hoping I could get them from them. Nope. He didn't even have an availability date. So.....I ordered them online.

Our Mini just left the last lock in the Panama Canal. A few more weeks until I can tinker with her. Got a bunch of stuff for her right after she gets home.

Nice . . . I love those!
I'm so late in the game here. Can those be installed even if you do not have the xenon headlights?

Just got mine installed too! They're too bright for my phone to get a good pic. I love them! One of the very few mods where both car people AND non car people go "wow, that's cool". :

TG, you should be able to install these no problem.
