Mr.Injector
Mr.Injector
So, got my injectors back today from http://www.mrinjector.us/index.html and am pretty happy with the cost and results. He does a complete ultrasonic cleaning and rebuild of your injectors with before and after flow sheets included with your returned injectors. I have peace of mind knowing my JCW injectors are all flowing exactly 376cc. My worst flowing one was 352cc prior to cleaning and rebuild which includes filter,o-rings, pintles etc. Mr.injector charges a flat $16 per injector and $5 to send them back. The other places I checked were $18-21 each if memory serves right. Anyway just wanted to put in a good word for Mr.Injector as I promised him and to let you guys know this is a great service and much better than just running fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank.
ATF as injector cleaner!?
I was looking into some gun cleaning material for my M24, a Desert Eagle and a few other pieces of my gear. Someone wrote on a gun site that they were using Seafoam to clean their weapons..... then I read this post:
" I have seen this stuff at NAPA and would like to know if it would work. On a side note I put a quart of ATF in when I fill up every couple of tanks and It keeps my injectors CLEAN. Yes, automatic transmission fluid works great. No special kind of ATF just the cheap stuff. I learned it from a mechanic friend when I told him that I need to clean my injectors. He told me to try the ATF and see if it works first and it worked wonders."
Anyone use ATF on their Mini? I am curious if it does a better job than Seafoam or any other cleaner.

Using ATF as an additive is leftover from the good old days when it was just light oil. Modern ATF is 80% additives, many of which don't burn and leave damaging abrasive ash deposits in your engine. It's mostly the old timers who still recommended it just because they haven't kept up to date.
Know any other "cleaner"? My mechanic has a BG44k system that he uses. He said that he disconnects the fuel line from the vehicle and runs this stuff for 15 minutes while the car is running. he also charges $150 for the service......hence the reluctancy.
I have used these 2 products for years. http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...stem%20Cleaner
Chevron Techron was the only BMW apppoved addititve and it is the exact stuff the dealer sells at a premium. http://www.chevronwithtechron.com/pr...additives.aspx

Since I do not have a R56 MINI, I prefer Lucas and Techron. Seafoam is good for cleaning out the PCV system on them. On my MINI and many other cars I have had, I have used both with excellent results, as I never have had to replace an injector or had to have them rebuilt.
