Best Way to Spend $400-500 on Your MINI?

I'm finally getting rid of my run flat tyres on my Clubman, and I've got the detailing kit down. So, what's next?

Can anyone recommend something good on which to spend about $400-500 to upgrade/mod/treat my MINI??

Cheers.

I would have said get some Pilot Super Sports, but changing tires is already on your list.

I'm doing springs and a rear sway bar. That was in the 400-500 range for me, but I omitted a couple of things like rear control arms and end links. I figure I can do those without much hassle later on down the road.

Best $400 I have spent was Huper Optiks tint. Night and day difference in my driving comfort.

Got tint already.

What differences will I see with the springs/sway bar?

Any other ideas, or is this the consensus?

Welcome
The rear sway bar would be the biggest suspension bang for the buck mod you could do.
We also recommend the NM Torque arm bushing as a great cheap upgrade that you will actually notice.

H-Sport Competition Bar. You don't want to go with a 19mm because you will likely regret it unless your plan on driving SUPER slow then go with the 19mm. I don't regret my competition bar, plus I have three settings which is nice

I have been looking for the best mod to do for this price range also. With the sway bar do you have to replace the endlinks? I know it would be best but will the factory ones last or will they go out quick?

Also should I look at lowering springs with sway bar or just a rear sway bar?

You don't need the endlinks and control arms unless your lowering the car springs or coilovers. IMO, save for coilovers or Koni yellows with lowering springs. But the sway bar alone is good.

How about some nice aftermarket lightweight wheels, or interior LED's, or a nice detail job ???

the single mod that can improve lap times the most

if you don't believe me, check the lap times of F1 drivers vs civilians in the "reasonably priced car" on TOP GEAR

I too would suggest the Hsport Comp rear sway bar as it is the lightest available, has the best bushings, and zerk fittings on the mouts to regrease. Put it on in the Middle setting and enjoy.

#7. Seat time where you learn to drive your car. Unless you have lots of instruction under your belt, the car is way better than you are already. It will write checks your skill set can't cash.

Until you upgrade the driver, making lots of mods to the car just ensures that you are going faster when you crash...lol

This makes NO sense at all...with 19mm set to full stiff, -2 deg front camber and -1.2 deg rear camber, car rotates very easily and is extremely fast....
