De-chroming

So I just got my Mini S 2010, I want to do some de-chroming and get my windows tinted. I heard of people using plastic dip but don't know much about it. Has anyone done this? Looking to see if it turned out well or if you have any other suggestions and if it was fairly easy to do.

Its simple to use you spray just like it was a rattle can of paint nice even coat dont apply too heavy a coat , several thin coats better, also better to leave the can some place warm before spraying it seems to apply easier. Alot of the chrome I left on my car and just masked off meticulously with newspaper and tape taking overspray into consideration.

plasti-Dip is pretty easy to use. I used it to cover up most of the chrome on the front end of my car:
before:

after:

The finish matches the sides near the wheel wells
