Drip rail corners

I am sure that there is a thread on this already.... but my guess is that it is buried deep in here somewhere..... I recently purchased a well loved 2003 R50..... has the normal scratches and little dings but what it was missing when I got it was the passenger side drip rail corner piece ..... and after a trip through an automatic carwash I am now missing the one on the driver side. Is this a piece I can get and where would I locate this piece? Not very close to a MINI dealership here.

I too have a 2003 R50. I bought her with the driver's side piece missing, fully aware of it and ready to google it and buy it online. Little did I know that it would be impossible to find :(

My husband and I have tried calling and emailing several salvage yards around town that advertise MINI's on Craigslist and whatnot, but that always seems to be the first thing to go. It's quite frustrating, really.

The only solution I've come to is to buy a whole roll of the roof lining (like it is sold most places). I've been told you cannot purchase the little corner piece by itself. In the meantime, my husband has covered the area with black electrical tape. He used some sort of heavy duty tape though, because it's hung on there in high winds even on the freeway at 70MPH

Just keep looking around. Maybe one of us will get lucky lol! I know I tend to search for it every once in a while. I've just taught myself to let it go and not let it bother me. Although, it is VERY tempting to steal one off of my husband's MINI...it's parked right next to mine everyday in the garage...hmmmm. He might get mad.

Can only be obtained when purchasing the entire length of drip rail from your MINI dealer. Most cases when lost, it's the fault of the windshield replacememt company who has compromised either the white clip holding it on or they elongated the slot which holds the clip to the trim.

Anyone have any experience reattaching? The corners have peeled up a little bit, and when I had my Mini in at the dealership this week for service they said they needed to be replaced. They don't look like they're in bad condition at all... I'm wondering if I really need to replace them, or if there is a way to re-adhere them. If that makes sense.

I used some trim adhesive to secure mine since the clip on one was broken (I got them from a parted out R53) and I haven't had any problems with since.
