Drive Safe & Save

Just recieved an offer from my insurance company to participate in their "drive safe and save" program.
They give you one of those little plug-in things that will monitor your driving habits and you could save up to 5% off youre premiums...
OK, how many Mini owners out there would plug one of these things into their Mini so your insurance company could monitor your driving habits?
Any one think they could actually save money on thier insurance? Or would your premiums probably go up instead?
I'm a pretty safe, and law abideing, driver and could certainly use any discounts my insurance company is offering but somehow I think it would be a mistake to give my insurance this much information on how I drive.
Any comments?

I did this through progressive. I got 15% off my premium and my wife only got 8%...
As far as I know, It only monitored acceleration, deceleration, and times of day driven.
They really frown on fast starts, fast stops and driving between midnight and 0400 when the drunks are more likely to hit you.

edit: and it was only for 30 days. I can behave that long.

I don't even want my wife to know how I drive our MINI - let alone my insurance company!

I did it with my grand prix last year. As for the Mini, lets just say I've already made our daughter (who does gymnastics) puke twice while riding in the back...
Definitely not a car for passengers with motion sickness issues.

No way in Hell I'd install the car tattle tale on my car.. Any of them...

It's bad enough with cameras, ezpass, GPS tracking in my phone..NSA etc.

I'm sure my insurance company would drop me in a heartbeat...
