Hasn't this project been going since late 2009?

^ Yep this is true, the car was purchased in 2009 and I get about half a day a week to just about a fully day on it. Probably get to spend 30 days a year working on it

However after spending a few years on it, I can see that it will be rolling this year but lets wait and see. I have a 1972 beetle to work on, a 1990 mini and run a busy little design consultancy so time is not on my side.

Thanks for looking though

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great project. I'm sure you're getting impatient to finish this project but so are we curious bystanders. Your workmanship looks impeccable but the suspense is killing me.

Just curious. Since I don't know anything about doing something like this, I've always wondered when you chop a roof, where do you get the glass to fit it? Custom made?

I think some people will use a tinted plexiglass.

Not too much of a problem, the front is just cut down as it laminate glass and I will do that in the rear garden. The rest is all plexiglass but in the UK for the road it has to be specially coated and then marked but it's really easy to obtain just pick the phone up and order.

If I was in the US it would be a lot easier to obtain and have had many offers via email but I don't think I would risk the postage

I can say the glass is actually the easy part and making a larger roof skin is the hardest part of this chop
