White Stripes with Chili Red Roof?

Hey guys, So I'm in a bit of a pickle right now and was hoping to get some ideas. I have an all chili red justa R56 and I was originally going to put on some stripes and get an awesome custom vinyl for my roof. But after lots of thought I decided to forgo on the custom vinyl because of the cost and the fact that it'll be really hard to sell afterwards. But I already bought the stripes and I think it's too late to return them.

I was thinking of still putting the stripes on so I would have two sport/viper stripes on the hood and trunk but with a body coloured roof. Has anyone done this before? I can't seem to find any pictures of it anywhere so I don't know what it would look like. My other thought was to just paint the roof white but then after looking around it seems it could cost up to $1500 and it may never be perfect. What are your thoughts guys? Should I just put the stripes on and leave the roof red? Or try to find someone to buy the stripes off of me?

Show a pic of your car.

Personally, I would sell the stripes and go with black stripes on bonnet and boot. If your car is not a sunroof car, roof stripes are an option in the Viper style. That should work with either color, but since roof stripes stand out, I'd still go with black. And no, I wouldn't change your roof color. All red MINI's have a sophisticated look, I think.

How long have you had the stripes? Any chance you can contact the vendor and ask to exchange?

I say go for the white stripes and reconsider the roof graphic or stripes. Vinyl is removeable so it shouldn't effect resale. You could even do white vinyl on the roof instead of paint, or white with red stripes that mirror the stripes on the body.

I agree that an all red MINI is more fun to look at, as well as any MINI that is all one color. But if you can't exchange the stripes, maybe see how it looks by just placing them on the car, but not necessarily putting them on (if possible). I also agree that if you are going to replace them, black would be the best choice. I personally love the look of the red/black MINI's. My husband actually currently has a Chili Red '04 with a white roof/mirrors and is probably going to be painting those black soon. I too have decided to paint my white roof/black on my '03 Indi Blue MINI (I love that combo better!). Good luck with whatever you do! And just remember, MINI's are VERY easy to accessorize and make your own. Plus, pretty much whatever you do to it, it looks great

You know you could do the stripe affect on the MINUSA configurator? All red, white viper stripes bonnet and trunk. You can even do the roof.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I called up the vendor and managed to switch them for black ones. I think they look a lot better and since I'm not getting a white roof it all works out. I decided to go with a more rugged rally look and get the roof rack and some extra driving lights on the front grill, especially since I just put some mud flaps on.
