Sport Stripe owners - bad install?

Hi all

I finally got my '12 MCS and it's a great little car only marred by what looks too be a poor sport stripe install. There are numerous bubbles, which my MA says is water and will eventually evaporate. I'm no expert on vinyl installation, but isn't the installer suppose to use a squeegee to remove air and water? She said to give it a couple weeks and they should disappear.

I'm sure if they remain the dealer will make things right, I just wish it was as it should be from the start, rather than being inconvenienced by having to return the car for installation.

Anyone here have a similar situation with their sport stripes?

Here's pics of the new ride:

At the dealer right now, same story here.
I think it's common just give it a bit.

when I first picked up the car there were too many bubbles IMO and the dealer agreed. They immediately replaced.

On the do over there were still some but not as bad. Having installed this stuff b4 I was comfortable with letting things sit for a while . . . after 4 weeks in FL sun there were just a few and those I touched with a sharp needle, rubbed out and sat again.

Now can't see a blemish - mine's an 07

My '11 MCS had recently had the stripes installed by the dealer when I picked it up and it had no bubbles in the stripes I could find.

Funny I had to remember if Molly had been striped already when I first saw her the day she was delivered to the Dealership, here's a pic...stripes were definitely there!!

Oh...and NO Bubbles!!

Reread post and just realized I don't have Sport Stripes...Oooops!!

Normally, the little air pockets will go away. It can take a couple weeks. If not, they'll have to redo them or if you want take a pin and poke 'em. Do not cut them with a razor blade. The pin hole will allow the air/water to evaporate and close up. You won't see the pin hole.

I recently had my stripes put on by a professional body shop that a friend owns. Perfect job, no bubbles at all and it cost only $40 for the labor. Best $$ I've spent on the mcs to date!

the bubbles will go away after a few weeks. taking a sharp needle to the ones that remain is the right move. after popping them, take a flat object, like the edge of a credit card, and smooth them out. i wouldn't worry yet.

I'll be dropping my car off to the dealer Monday morning so they can fix the stripes. We'll see how it goes.

I'm happy to report my stripes look much better! There was one small bubble on the hood, but after a couple days, it disappeared.
