Black Flame Custom?
Black Flame Custom?
Anyone have any experience with Black Flame Custom? I am seriously thinking about sending my halogens in to have them converted to HIDs with black housing and red accent. All for around $750.
I was looking to see if anyone had any experience with them? I'd hate to shell out that money to have it be **** quality. From pictures it looks pretty sweet though...

put my order in about 2 weeks ago, there is a lead time and a deposit. Actually there was set for sale in the market place from blackflame. for about 1K you get all new housings with the retrofit kit and everything else you need completed. you just plug and play. waiting on JB to let me know when mine get into production there.
Its up to you and what you can afford I guess, they can acquire new housings, you can acquire and ship new housings or you can ship your current housings.
I just sent my headlights in. UPS = $97 packing + ship charge one way. Wasn't expecting that! He said I should get them back around November 7th or so. I got the retro + 5000k bulbs + color matched shroud. All for around $790. Shipping prices are killing me....
I'll let you all know how they are once they get in.

Me too! Ive heard great things about the MH1 Projectors. I've heard they are on par with Audi/BMW Xenons, and loads better than stock MINI Xenons. Also, they will look incredible with the red accent in the black housing. Let me know your progress!
I changed them to 5000k, because they give a little bit more of a blueish/white color to the headlights. The 4300k gave off a little bit too much yellow coloring for my taste. I'm not sure if you know this, but generally the higher up you go from 4000k, the less light output you get. 6000k is a color that a lot of people like (it looks very high-end), but gives off pretty poor light vs. 4300k. I thought that 5000k was a good compromise for light output and color.
If we are talking about what's hot, how about that car of yours? I LOVE the countryman. This particular one is awesome! How are you liking it so far?
Teebo- Yes, it is definitely something to consider. I spent awhile looking it up and eventually decided on 5000k. When are you expected to get yours?

Honestly I'm not sure. Was never given a date only that there's a lead time and that they order new housings then retrofit (I wanted to keep my original housings) sent out an email to JB for updates and about 5000k bulbs. Thanks
5000K is on the upper eand of good color before the light output starts to drop exponentially. I plan on getting 5K in mine as well. Hopefully Ill see mine in about 2 weeks.

They look AWESOME! Congrats!
I just talked to JB, and he said that they are working on mine now, should have pics by Friday. Very excited! I can't drive the car with no headlights... so I'm in MINI withdrawal.

Driving my GF's VW Golf in the meantime... awesome car, but not nearly as fun as my MINI.
POST PICTURES ONCE YOU GET THEM ON THE CAR! And some shots from inside the car at night, and a picture of the front of the car so we can see the color of the bulbs!
