Actual Cost for a MC
Actual Cost for a MC
I'm sure someone from MINI could easily answer this question, but I was just wondering what the actual cost is to build a MINI Cooper? Accountants would know what I'm talking about. Is it like $15k, $10k...

Porsche makes $28,000 per car, BMW makes $3,200-- which may include MINI, not too sure. WV on the other hand makes $400.
So I'm going to guess MINI makes somewhere between $500-$3,200 per car.

I'm not even sure that MINI could answer that question.
Do those who provide those per-car profit guesstimates take into account the full range of manufacturer's costs, including research and development, facility construction, re-tooling, advertising, employee pay and benefits, etc.?
But I've read several sources claiming that Porsche is the most profitable car company, at least on a per-unit basis. But their per-unit return on investment apparently varies greatly across models; being much higher for their high-end models than for their "entry level" Boxsters and Caymans.

I'm a professional baker. Price of product as a general rule is 3-4x cost of ingredients. Gotta keep the lights on.
