MINI Owners in Colorado

I moved to Colorado from the midwest last month. I used to have a MINI and miss it every time I see one on the road. I am considering getting another one, but I am concerned about the winters here.

Those of you that live here, how is it having a MINI during the winters here?

Along the front range it is pretty dry, snow is not heavy most times, gone in usually less than a full day.

Unless we have a cold snap and a blizzard, then you should stay home like the rest of the folks.

Don't expect Colorado drivers to know how to drive in the snow, they don't..... Actually, they will scare you.

Get a MINI, my 07 gets around fine and our ALL4 does more than fine in the snow.

The last few winters have been very weak snow-wise, but like Don said: the snow here is usally gone the next day! When it has snowed, I haven't had any troubles getting around (hills included) with my OEM run-flats...

I should clarify "weak": along/east of the Front Range was lame snow-wise. The out west mountains got pounded last winter though...

You can pretty much drive a MINI year round. We'll get one or two *** kicker snows, but when the roads are difficult to traverse you should be at home anyway. It's the idiots that come out when they shouldn't that makes it tough...and trust me, I know what I'm talking about (career position).

Now, what the road treatment does to your windshield...that a whole new game.

Just make sure you get a full front clear bra! As the others have said, for the most part the weather is not an issue but the gravel they put down on the roads is.

You can always take RTP when it snows. Oh wait, nevermind!

Have been driving a Cooper S since November 2008 (I live in Boulder), and the winters haven't been an issue at all. Get good all seasons or dedicated snow tires and you'll be fine.
