License Plate Rattle

Does anyone else have a problem with their license plate rattling and it gets extremely annoying? I have a GP and there are only two top screws to mount the rear license plate to the back of the car. This causes the bottom side of the plate to rattle against my rear hatch causing a rather annoying noise. Anyone have a solution?

I just got the screws for the bottom of the plate and screwed it in. Haven't had a problem since. Just to ask do you have a plate cover? You know the own that goes around the edge of the plate. If so, you might want to secure that too.

I tried double sided tape but i think in the heat it doesnt hold very well because the plate keeps on rattling.

On my GP, I have a simple black license plate frame that uses four screws (two top and two bottom) to hold the frame and license plate to the OEM license plate mount. The OEM license plate mount is attached to the car only at the top. I only get a rattle when I close the rear hatch.

Mine is the exact same way but it rattles all the time, maybe ill jsut glue some rubber on the back of the plate, i was just trying to avoid having the rubber rub on the Matt Black finish where the plate is and scuffing it since the matt black is a soft paint

Maybe you should temporarily wedge a little piece of foam between the mounting bracket and car body to verify that stops the rattle before glueing a rubber piece that will probably mark the matte black.

I can't believe that you haven't had it TIG welded yet.

UPDATE! Drove me F**KIN crazy. Removed the rear trunk inside panel and found small plastic debris inside the panel and the trunk lid possibly from the factory rattling around

Lowe's sells rubber stoppers. Buy 2 and run 2 more bolts in the bottom holes into the stoppers, no more rattle
