Weight of your car?

Hey guys. I searched around a little. But didn't find exactly what I wanted. I want to know the weight of my car. I know the curb weight is 2668 or something. Isn't it on the car somewhere or am I mistaken?? I downloaded that iPhone app dynolicious and it requires the weight of your car. I don't think the curb weight is what my car weighs. So any help would be appreciated! Sorry if this is a dumb question.

easy to find out

Go to a Truck Stop and get them to weigh your car. It will only cost a couple of bucks then you can let us all know.

In my area, there's a garbage collection center where you can bring large items to dump. things like old toilets and other large stuff that the weekly trash collection folks doesn't pick up. Anyways, at this collection center, they have one of those scales that you can drive your car on.

I'd be interested in hearing some people's weights.

There is a sticker in the driver's side door jam that has the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (the maximum allowed weight when fully loaded) this is rquired by law.

My Clubman's sticker says 3715 lbs. The MINIUSA site says the curb weight is 2889 lbs with the automatic transmission, so it'll carry 826 lbs.

MINIUSA,

Hey Darthhen, do you happen to have the address to this place? I'm going to be in San Jose next week and I might be able to sneak away from work for a few minutes and report back my weight.

The curb weight for the R56 MCSm is listed at 2668lbs. However, I've read several unsubstantiated posts stating that this weight is with all available options. True? My curiosity's killing me so I may go looking for a truck scale in the AM. Only have 10mi on a tank of gas and will post if I find a scale.

Do let us know. I hate when I can't find answers out fast enough! But I thought I read that the curb weight is with the standard options. Not all the options. But who knows

I'm curious too. My R53 was 2,552 when corner weighted. I rather doubt the Gen 2 cars are lighter, but who knows?

Cheers,

Charlie

Sweet, thanks! That's about 6 mi from where I'm going to be so I'll swing by there and see if they'll let me weigh my car. I'll fill up my tank too, just to have one known variable accounted for.

I found a truck scale and my MINI weighs 2640lbs with a full tank. That gives me a P/W ratio of ~12.6lbs/HP! It also raised some questions about MINI's advertized curb weight of 2668lbs. I've taken +70lbs off by deleting the rear seat and putting on Konig Britelights and non-RFs. The math don't work out. Is that 2668lbs for an MCS with zero options? To add to the confusion, I found out that curb weight in the US is measured with a full tank. In Europe it depends on the country! Anyone know what the Brit specs are? Why does curiosity always nail you right between the eyes? LOL

Anybody know any stock car drivers? All the local guys here have 4 corner digital scales, very accurate.

I never weighed mine but I wish it weighed 800 lbs. less!

The gen 2 is slightly lighter, by about 20 lbs. The topic was much discussed when the gen 2 was first released.

The curb weight listed in the owner's manual is with all options included (that's what it says). There is an official standard for the measurement and I think it also includes a half tank of gas.

(the 2,552 is with no driver, and one quarter tank of gas)

the car has light wheels and an Odyssey PC680T battery and no air conditioning (heat exchanger, pump and plumbing removed - idler added)

I have retained the OEM seats, otherwise I should expect to be below 2,500.

The '89 Honda that won STX Nationally in '10 was most probably almost 500 pounds lighter.

Ah the joys of sports sedans with power everything!

Kind regards,

Charlie
