Pepper white stained from Stripes?

So today I was going to get a clear bra installed and when I got there I had the guy take off the stripes and soon as he took off 1, we noticed that right above the Scoop its stained yellow..

These are the best photos I have of it right now...
my editing skills

Has anyone had this happen?

Should I call the dealer and see if they will cover the costs of having it corrected by a professional?

Ill try to get better ones if the sun is out tomorrow

Well it is somewhat noticeable although the photos don't really give true colors. Have you tried any cleaners on the affected areas?

This is NOT the type of thing Pre-Wow or any cleaner is going to remove. Pepper White is the only MINI paint that stains like crazy. The only way you will improve this is through machine polishing with a paint cleaner. Putting on a wax won't help either. it's a shame your paint is so swirled out. How are you washing your MINI?

You should bring your MINI by my shop and we can see what can be done. I'm out of the country right now but will be back at the end of next week.

Those swirls were under the stripes

Well I've never seen swirls on any MINI under factory stripes, so the stripes must have been put on by the dealership or by someone else at a later time after delivery.

I have seen PepperWhite paint stained by Meguiar's Quick Detailer, and by unknown substances on the street that a PW driver drove over and splashed all over his car. So I'm not at all surprised to see this. Again, without more information, I must assume the stripes were not factory installed based on the condition of the paint and the installer did a wet install with the stripes. The solution caused the staining to occur.

Well I didn't know that the stripes are factory installed.. Most likely they installed them when it was a lot car.

My point is simple. The paint under the stripes are swirled meaning that the paint was damaged by someone other than the factory. Usually the dealer does the damage or a third party. The fact that the paint is stained under the stripes means that something was applied to cause the staining. In my experience, this was a wetting solution. The only way you are going to solve or minimize the staining is through paint removal, i.e. paint polishing.

I've only had issues with thei Quick Detailer in the maroon bottles..but it doesn't happen every time. Just something to be aware of.

You need some polish on it, not a "cleaner". I bet it also needs to be clayed. Why not just get the exterior detailed?

Try to stay away from any auto parts store car care products, stick with speciality products. I have tried just about every QD out there, for the price I like the Griot's speed shine, or Einszett QD. Always get it in the biggest size you can get, it goes like water.

I also agree it's weird that the car is scratched under the stripes. Maybe they stained the paint, tried to "fix it" then put on the stripes.

You should polish the paint before doing clear bra anyway.

If it helped, it probably means you need time. Whenever I've performed stain removal on Pepper White, I used a rotary buffer and polished for a LONG TIME. I'm telling you, to fix this stain, you will have to remove a significant amount of paint. If 3 passes on your DA helped, then don't stop until you've done 15 or 20 passes.

You need a rotary, or use the DA for quite some time. IMHO, Griot's polishes are idiot proof, but very mild. Get some Lake Country pads, like yellow, orange & green.

I would use some Menzerna SIP, then follow up with Menzerna 106. These are "big boy' polishes all the pro's use. SIP will dust, you need to work it in for quite some time with a DA. Use the top speed, you want to build up some heat.
