Did Morgan just still R53 Headlights?
Did Morgan just still R53 Headlights?
The other night I was watching Top Gear (American Rev) and they were testing the Morgan Aero Supersports and I noticed the headlights are very familiar
Looked closer and yes those are R53 headlights that are installed in opposite side.
Sounded interesting to me and taught to share it here

by the way if you are interested in one of these you better sign up since the wait line is 2 years!!!

using same engine between different cars is not unusual but using something like headlight exactly the same way that is offered on other car is not very common...
It's not totally unheard of. Probably not as common as it used to be but still happens.
Haha!
I was watching it Sunday night and thought "Man that car is cool, those headlamps are awesome".....Hey waita minute, those look familiar.
I kept looking at them thinking, wait no, yeah and then tanner said it used a BMW engine and it clicked. Its an awesome car though

Was blown away in 2007 while wandering thru the car park at the historic parador at Jaen, Spain - a real live Morgan with the MINI lamps - kinda like a glimpse of a Jurraisic Park beast sitting outside a Moorish castle at sunset!

I remember when the car was covered by either Top Gear UK or Fifth Gear they actually pointed out that they were Mini Cooper headlights. Wish I remembered which show.
The stalk controls look BMW too. Looks like they source a lot of the guts from them (engine, electronics, headlights). It's already an expensive car and they deal in such small numbers it is probably a lot easier to buy from a mass producer. Besides what's going to play nicer with a BMW engine than BMW parts?

It was Top Gear UK. If I recall, Richard Hammond owns a Morgan.
Nissan 300zx headlights are on Lamborghini Diablos (I'm pretty sure).
Etc, there are various bits and pieces car makers pull from bigger manufactuers to save $$$.
On Jalopnik there was an article outlining the more famous recycled parts and the Nissan / Lamborghini was the one that stood out the most.

I believe thats what you saw.
If you watch any of the B-J auctions, you may have a noticed a couple of hot rods that used MINI head lights. Builders like them because they have a classic look, are slightly aero, and are pretty straight-forward to mount.
Nope and yes!
what?!
No.
