Bond MINI -Mistake?
Bond MINI -Mistake?
Not sure how many of you follow the "Bond MINI" blog? -I check it almost daily as it's a Japanese site and almost always has really cool looking products for our MINI's that you rarely see in the US or elsewhere.
Today on their homepage (Sept 28/Tue) they have an image of a Cooper S w/ the decals installed backwards. Curious if anyone else caught that and why they'd install it backwards?

sometimes graphic editors decide to flip a picture to get a better fit in the frame and sometimes they do so without realizing there's writing or some other tell tale sign that they've done it.
I've ve seen video editors do it - and an actors mole change from one side of their face to the other and back again in a series of shots

It's not backwards, a mistake, or flipped. It's common with script like that to have one side backwards so that both sides are identical ('C' up front on both sides). They want the heavier end of the word with the capital letter at the leading end of the graphic to put the weight of the word towards the front and have it trail off towards the back of the car with the smaller non-capital letters.
Some people agree with it, some don't. It's an aesthetic choice.

I am looking at images of Carerra RS's (as that's where that font originated from) ..yet can only find images of the driver's side so the font reads from left to right.
...okay, got to get back to work!
-look at the background image (Bilstein Shocks logo is correct)
This seems to make sense, thanks for the explanation. ...yeah, seems odd to me to have it backwards... yet I get having the heavier font at the front or back.

Was kidding... Hence the

Regardless, I don't think it's the fact that the writing is backwards that made putting those decals on there a mistake. Not a good look, IMO.

I read the title of the thread and thought the OP was going to tell us that James Bond was trading in his Austin Martin in the next movie and getting a Mini..........it could happen
