I think it looks pretty cool. It's probably a little too extreme for the general public though. The only thing I would change would be the headlights, they just don't seem to flow with the new styling too well.

I don't like Neal Steinhof's interpretation.

No, don't like sculptured sides, and the rear end treatment looks like a Mazda or Kia Soul to me.

I like it because it makes my car look like a neo "classic", and my selling price just went up.

I'm not against that sort of side sculpting on the whole - just that on a MINI, it falls into the "excessive decoration" category. I really like what Rover/BMW did when they styled the MINI, both generations, because the great majority of the styling cues had their counterparts in the classic Mini. I'd be disappointed if BMW were to steer away from their original inspiration.

Just my opinion,

Spridget

My 2¢...No! Please say it isn't so. Maybe they can park that along side the new Nissan Juke or Cube, or maybe the Pontiac Aztec and AMC Pacer in the unfortunate styling museum.

Is that the return of Solid Gold?

I think I might like it.

LOL, I miss my '76 Pacer X, really! Suspension lifted 2" in the back, header, Holley 4 barrel carb, Flowmaster exhaust. Looked especially bad since I salvaged it from a junkyard and had not worked on the body, but ran great! Sounded like a truck, heehee.

This is awful. I feel like it doesn't even have an inkling of being a relative of the original Mini. I know some classic owners who feel that the BMW MINI is an impostor. But this thing just seems ridiculous.

Don't care for it at all, personally. In my eyes it loses all the charm and character of the R56/R55, 100%. I would never buy a MINI that looks like this.

It seems to look like alot of cars designers dream about that come from Japan.

Too rounded and getting away from the Mini look, but of course look at what

Mini came up with: The Countryman ? ? ? ? ? ? WHY ? ? ? ? ?

I think Mini may be heading down a path they may regret if they get too far way

from the smaller car that made Mini famous.

I like the changes of the 2011 Mini S model; I love my 2006 Mini S !

That might be a good 2020 model MINI, but right now, the car is not ready for something that extreme. It really looks like something Honda or Nissan would conceive to try to take on MINI. Way too rounded off.

I agree with FD. That mock up looks just like every other small Japanese small car....ala' 2012 Honda CRZ.

Going that direction MINI may just as well scrap the whole project and do what the Big 3 has done for the last two decades and just mass produce cars for the rental fleet companies and totally ignore customer feedback.

And we all know what happend to them........
