2010 Ordering Help
2010 Ordering Help
Does anyone know if they are still taking orders for 2010 builds? If so, does the 1.9% financing and free "package" apply to these orders or only for in-stock inventory? I know the 2011's are more powerful, include some other nice updates and are coming in October, but these special financing incentives are hard to pass up. My problem is that I "have to" have the Convenience Package if I'm gonna give up my flawless 2008 Justa and none of the dealerships I've looked at online seem to carry any cars with that package on the lot.
I would bet the 1.9% is just for the current inventory... That's the reason they are offering it, to get rid of as many as possible 2010s.
Call your dealer and let them do the search!! Even if it's a dealer far away, they may be able to get you the car.

Honestly, are the MINI salesmen (I refuse to call them MAs anymore) stupid, arrogant or just plain lazy? Do they even care about making a sale? I've built two cars on the 2010 MINI USA website and sent them to three different dealers expecting at least a follow-up call. Got none. I also clicked on the MINI financial website and was instantly pre-approved for my loan. No calls on that either. When MCS Fever pointed out to me that the special financing ends tomorrow, I called 4 dealers within 80 miles of me. One was already closed at 7:07 pm. Prestige MINI had no one to talk to me, took my number and never called. Another NJ dealer also took my information and never called back while the 4th dealer didn't answer the phone.
I even e-mailed one dealer asking if they could find me a car with the convenience package anywhere and let me know. That was a rash thought because I know exactly what I want built and I require all the options I configured. If they had simply called back and offered me any kind of effort I could have easily been talked into buying something I didn't necessarly want. Now it looks like this special offer will disappear until maybe early next year when once again they'll be dieing to get rid of unclaimed cars. Nimrods.

They just cost themselves $25,000 is the way I now look at it. Now I'll have to wait until this time next year to try to get in on any other clearance deals they might have. I'm sure any sales they have in September will be only on existing stock on hand.
Don't know when the 2010 cut-off is for ordering, but I would think it's come and gone. At any rate, you get the offer that is current when the car is delivered - might be better - might be less. When we ordered ours June 8th, the offer was 2.9% I think and free auto tranny in a convert or some such.
Come July 26 delivery date the offers were the same as August 1.9% and free $1,750 premium package for any 2010 - and we had the premium package - so we scored by chance.

This is the same for many OEM's, I think Chrysler/Dodge might let you lock-in current offers when you order a rig, but who drives Chryslers...

I'm sure the offers will carry over into September. As long as 2010s sit on their lot, there will be deals made. I got offered $4K off an in-stock JCW, in addition to 1.9% and the free premium package (aka, almost $6K off given to me without even negotiation...with some time/skill, that could be $8K easily).
They want to get rid of 2010s. If you can find one on a lot somewhere (and there are a ton out there) that fits your specs, you'll be able to get a deal on it. Dealers can move inventory around and I'm sure a dealer would be willing to give up a 2010. 2011s are on order now and they want to make room for those.
