Separation Anxiety?

I've had my MINI for all of 12 days now. Took it to the shop yesterday for some repairs I'd known about since the pre-purchase inspection. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I just miss the thing! It was sad not to see it out in my driveway last night, and not to be able to drive it to work yesterday or today.

At least I got to motor 200 miles on Sunday. All the way from Virginia Beach to the Outer Banks and back, just to get out of the house for a few hours and find some Carolina BBQ.

I think I'm going to do all my own maintenance/repairs from now on, just because I don't want to part with my car. Any body else get separation anxiety? How long does this last?

I know how you feel!
I dropped my MINI off at the graphics shop for 2 days to get a roof graphic done and I felt like I was dropping off my first born to daycare for the first time.

I don't know what I am going to do in the winter when I put her away in the garage...

I can relate... I tend to relieve the stress by flogging the dealer loaner.

Yes separation can be a problem, try to keep your mind on something else or take cold shower!

I got it at first until I started to trust my local shops. They even know not to move my seat without me even telling them.

Loaners? I enjoy breaking in their tires for them. You know, rounding the outside edge of every tread block and feathering the shoulders.

Well, I finally got my MINI back today, two days after it was supposed to be done. But the window rolls down, and the drive axle shaft seal is fixed, so it's all good to go now!

I'm already looking forward to the drive home...

I just spend a week in Europe with a Chevy Spark and then a Peurgot (sp?) 107 as rental cars. Wow and I glad I opted for the MINI when I wanted to go small rather than one of those pieces of junk.

That Chevy was so slow that I got out accellerated by an Asda truck on a piece of Scottish motorway. How embarrassing is that?! The 107 was a lot better and not a bad little car but still nothing like the MINI. At least it accelerated without written notice...

One of my good friends lives in the OBX, in Kill Devil Hills. I hear it's beautiful. I'll have to visit it sometime. I understand completely about the separation anxiety.
