Forum Searches vs search engine

HI,

I am a new owner of a used MINI and wanted info on the possible programming of a separate key fob as the car only came with one. I did not find much info after several searches of this forum. Then today I tried the same simple search on google, and it cam up with a great thread on the subject, from this forum. Does anybody know why a generic google search would get me way better results from this forum then searching this forum from it's own page?

Example try this search in the forums and just straight google:

Mini key fob comfort

Hello Kevin and welcome to NAM! I too usually use Google when searching for things, which brings up some great threads from NAM. Just typically get better findings that way, not sure why. What MINI did you just purchase? Post up some pictures for us when you can.

Instead of using the 'big' search engine on the top task bar, try clicking the smaller 'search' on the lower task bar between 'New Posts' and 'Quick Links' then select advanced search at the bottom of the 'search' dialogue box. It gives you a lot more options to help refine your inquiry.
