What You Hate Most about Your Mini???
No huntching required w/...www.lightinsight.com!!
Just ordered one! Been meaning to for months now and finally got around to it. Does it really take 2 - 3 weeks to get here like the website says or is shipping usually a little faster?
i got mine pretty quick. it's not that big of an item so it fits in a regular mailing envelope. maybe 5 days.
Sry to break it to you but it is usually longer than the estimated time. expect 6-8 to be safe to be honest with you. are you having it made?
now i'm confused. wasn't he talking about a lightinsight? or am i losing my mind?
But seriously, I do not remember how long it took, it did come in a plain #10 Envelope and instructions too I think. I would say give it 10 Business Days, just to be safe!!
BTW...glad you saw the Light!!
black painted mirrors and also noticed that it actually works, particularly
at night. I then, of course, double check the light change by giving a direct look before I proceed through the intersection.
These are dislikes, not hates:
1) Visibility -- I can't see traffic lights when stopped because of forward and low roof line (which also puts the rearview mirror in prime position to block the view of the road when ascending an on-ramp). No seating adjustment will fix this, you have to tilt your head down low.
2) Top of steering wheel blocks top of tach. Yes, it's a MINI, but was it designed for dwarfs?
3) Seatbelts get stuck between seat and B-pillar.
4) Cupholders. I hate that they're there at all. Seriously. I don't drink and drive -- ever, but the German engineers have us stereotyped as fast-food sloths who can't go 5 miles without a Big Gulp.
5) Not a fan of the fob. You have to look at it to make sure you have it oriented correctly when inserting into the dash. The buttons are tiny and the trunk opening button is also the panic button.
6) The single button BC control is a PITA. They could have used other existing devices to allow you to scroll through options, then select. The menus are obtuse and it usually takes 3 or 4 attempts to set an option because of the cumbersome navigation.
Other than that, the car is PERFECT

Something I learned on this site. If you have chrome mirror caps, you can see the traffic light reflections in the cap. Works every time you can't see the light.

I found little plastic pieces that held up my the buckle on my belt helped keep the buckle from getting stuck. Look on the belt for the plastic piece, hopefully you have one because that really annoyed me for a few weeks until I found it!
They are also on the back belts as well for when you put up and down the rear seats. They have the same problem except the seats pull them behind as you close them if you don't use the plastic pieces.
Can't get hands-free voice commands to behave
So far Hobbes has been great. The only significant complaint is that I can't get the hands free voice commands to work. Even my MA said it sucked and just to possibly get it working you had to shout. Maybe it's a convertible thing given the increased road noise?
Ughhhhh, that drives me nuts!!!
2010 DS/S/S MCC ordered 10/31/09; entered production 11/03/09; Completed 11/10/09; Arrived 11/22/09; Picked up 12/15/09 FOR SALE!!
Why?
Maybe the same reason I sold my 2009...just time for something NEW! Plus, mine was a Justa...I upgraded to an S.

5) Do you have the proximity sensor? My FOB stays in my backpack.
6) Totally agree. They could also do a lot more with the "computer" like scroll song/artist, do trip calcs that includes elapsed time, moving time, milaige, average speed, mpg and ect.
Yup what Dani said... selling my Justa Clubman for a new Cooper S Hardtop....want to go smaller and faster!
Well, the tach moves with the wheel. If I lower the seat a bit and raise the steering wheel like I'm driving a bus, I can minimize the cutoff. Actually, now that I think about it, I had a similar problem with my X5. Not a significant problem in the grand scheme of things though
.
