Sad story of my MINI

My Dealer sent me an update yesterday that my New MCSC has arrived at port Brunswick, GA on Monday the 5th and should leave the distribution center by 10th. Today I got another email that says it is not going to be handled to the carrier until 19th and may not be here (Houston, TX)until end of this month.

His explanation was that the transportation company which is working for BMW/MINI is late on their deliveries and BMW is sending cars with trains and other trucks and there is a backlog!

Does anyone else experience the same issue?

Mine is currently in GA and has been since about June 29. My MA tells me that he won't know anything about estimated arrival date until it is put on a truck. As of yesterday, it wasn't on the truck. It looks as if these stories might corroborate each other and we might be in for a long July. My Owner's Lounge estimated delivery date is tomorrow. Don't see that happenin'.

I had that problem back in May. Was told that BMW had changed trucking companies and the new company doesn't have enough capacity to keep the cars moving in a timely manner. Sad that they haven't fixed that problem by now.

My owners lounge still says en route! I think they are trying to sound like that they have the capability of being up to date and being online but in reality it is usless, mine was on the ship and lounge was showing it was in the paintshop

Do you remember how long it took for yours from the time that arrived at GA to be loaded on truck/train?

Got an email today from dealer that the MINI probably will be delivered by next week, but once I was looking at the detail of status report from dealers email there was a section that stated "Holds: Repair" so it appears that the delay is because of some sort of damage to the car that being fixed at VDC not transportation backlog and from the search I did on NAM it appears that BMW/MINI had history of handful of these caseshttps://www.northamericanmotoring.co...on-center.html

I sent an email to dealer and no response so far!? I am going to wait till the car comes in and ask them for the VDC repair docs and see what was going on, it is kind of frustrating after long wait...

Sorry, missed the post initially... I want to say 2-3 weeks, but don't really recall exactly at this point - think it was closer to 3. The whole ordering process has mostly faded into an unpleasant memory.

After arriving in GA on June 29, my Clubman will be ready for pickup today, about 8 weeks since I placed the order. The trucking company was not responsive to requests for status updates from my MA and took about 9 days from release from the VDC to deliver in Florida. I am excited that the wait is finally over. Good luck with yours and hope you get it soon!

Yeah... For dealer orders its probably no big deal, but when dealing with customer orders its no way to do business. Good news is its on a truck and once it arrives the whole bad experience fades to memory pretty quick.

I believe they are having some trucking issues. Mine was suppose to arrive on a monday, it didn't, so the dealer felt it would be the next day. He apologized and said they've been having some problems. They finally called tuesday evening to track it down and said that it would be in late wed and to pick it up on thursday. Sure nuff, picked up my baby thursday afternoon.

Glad you finally will get yours, hopefully the repairs were minor.

Sad ending of story of my MINI

Here is the Sad ending of story of my MINI:

Went with lots of excitement to pickup my MINI today and once I got there I requested that if I can check out the car and take it for a test drive before I sign the papers, once they pulled the car to the covered area my MA notified me that some pen marks are on the white color line interior right beside the ignition key which probably happened sometime during delivery and they can change it with anew one, no big deal and I accepted that. While I was checking around the car I noticed the hood hinge was adjusted because you could see the washer marks have moved from their original spot and I thought probably this is the item that was initiated the repair order at VDC, but to me as far as they did a good job that was no big deal again, took the car for spin and as soon as hit the highway noticed excessive road noise, told MA about it and obviously he did not hear it because it was from my side, tried to find the problem and saw there was a gap of almost 1/8"*6" on the drivers window and sealant on B pillar, MA said let's go back to dealership and let the technician check it out, technician checked it out and he said he can adjust it. OK, I was getting nervous and right at this time he tried to start the engine and it stalled 3 times!!!!???? Finally they turned it on and as about to pull it to the shop I noticed the left back door had two dents at the hinge location and that set me off and told my MA that I don't want this car, sadly after almost three months of wait I had to pass on, I guess I am very lucky!!!

But the other side of the story was that they tried to find one inventory in all North America and they all had something different from what I wanted (I guess that's why you normally do special order)

So guess what I ordered another one and it will be 2011 and should get it by end of September, will put the new configuration in my SIG once I am in a better mood. all I can say now is I ordered White Silver instead of sparkling silver since it is discontinued for 2011.

I have to say During the whole nightmare experience that I had today all people at the dealership where so helpful and where tiring to help me out of the situation and that's why I am ordering from them again, to me how they handle the issue in these situation is what keeps the customer to go back to the same place
